Making maple syrup for fun in Grantham, New Hampshire.

Yellow sap
A couple of the buckets were full of yellow-ish sap today. They had been outside a few days and probably turned bad. The others were OK. The rain today is unrelenting. Looking at the weather forecast, I think our days are numbered.

Yesterday I got some nice sap. Today should end up with 3 or so gallons. PrecisionEquipment@hotmail.com
Welcome to this blog about making maple syrup. Up here in New England, we are surrounded by sugar maples, but only a small percentage are tapped each year. Read here about my second season of backyard sugaring. I'm hoping to make maple syrup as a hobby and provide enough for ourselves and maybe some gifts. Please leave your comments!
